DESCRIPTION: The adult bed bug is a wingless insect that is flattened from top to bottom. The immatures appear identical to the adults except for their smaller size,and a lighter yellowish white color

LIFE CYCLE: The life cycle stages of a bed bug are egg, nymph, and adult. The females lay about 200 eggs, usually at the rate of three or four a day, in cracks or crevices. bed bugs can survive for more than one year between meals.

TYPE OF DAMAGE: They feed principally on human blood by piercing the skin whith a long beak . bed bugs inject a fluid into their host to help them get their blood meal. this fluid makes some people sensitive to bites,causing irritation, itching, and inflammation. Other people can live with bed bugs and not be aware of their presence. They feed mostly at night, but will feed during the day if hungry, and the light is dim.

INTERESTING FACTS: Usually discovered in unsuspected areas such as in floor cracks, under carpets, behind wallpaper, pictures frames, in or behind dresser drawers. behind headboards, base boards, moldings, windows, box springs, mattresses seams, and any type of furnitures.

WHAT SHOULDN'T YOU DO? Don't panic Although bed bugs can be annoying, they can be battled safely and succesfully. Do not dispose of any furniture that is useful. Infested furniture can be treated. ( particularly mattresses )
